Biography:

• Shahid Kapoor, born in Delhi, is an actor as well as a trained dancer.

• Shahid debuted as a background dancer, not an actor, in the movie Taal in 1999.

• His acting debut was in Ishq Vishk in 2003, for which he won a Filmfare Award as well as an IIFA Award for Best Male Debut that year.

• Shahid earned Filmfare Best Actor nominations for Jab We Met in 2008, and Kaminey in 2010, while his greatest commercial success to date has been Vivah in 2006

• Shahid has also starred in flims such as 36 China Town, Chup Chup Ke, and Shikhar.
